Április 17-18-19-én került megrendezésre a X. jubileumi Kisüsti Pálinkafesztivál Gyulán. A rendezvényre Ausztráliából is érkezett nevezés. A kiállítók között megtalálhatók voltak az ország összes neves pálinkafőzdéi és bérfőzetői. A nevezett pálinkákat 22 tagú zsűri bírálta március 26-27-28-án, melynek végeredményét április 18.-án hirdették ki a fesztiválon. Több arany, ezüst és bronz érmeket osztottak szét.
A X. Kisüsti Pálinkafesztivál már március elején kezdetét vette. Március ötödikén dr. Panyik Gáborné 32 személyre tett javaslatot, akik bekerülhettek a szakmai zsűribe. Közülük különböző tesztek során választották ki a legjobb 22 bírálót, akik zsűrizhettek március 26-27-28-án az ország egyik legnagyobb pálinkaversenyén. A tét hatalmas, rengeteg versenyző vonultatta fel pálinkáit, megküzdve az érmekért, valamint a legnagyobb elismerésért, a “Magyarország Legjobb Pálinkája 2009″ díjért.
A várban megrendezett fesztivál nagyon sok érdekes programmal várta az odalátogatókat. A három napos rendezvényen több koncertet, bemutatókat, kiállításokat nézhetett meg az érdeklődő, sőt “Főzzük körbe a várat” szlogen alatt a többen is megmutathatták szakács tudományukat. Ezenkívül volt még szépségverseny, a gyerekeket pedig Nagy Bandó András szórakoztatta.
Az eredményhirdetésre április 18-án került sor.
A champion, arany, ezüst és bronz érmek mellett több különdíjat, valamint a „legeredményesebb kereskedelmi pálinkafőzde”, „legeredményesebb magánfőzető személy” és a „legeredményesebb bérfőzde” díjakat is kiosztották. A „Magyarország Legjobb Pálinkája 2009 díj is ekkor talált gazdára.
A versenyen 24 champion, 100 aranyérmet, 145 ezüstöt és 131 bronzérmet díjat osztottak ki. A legeredményesebb magyar pálinkafőzde a tiszaföldvári Szicsek Pálinkafőzde lett, a legeredményesebb bérfőzető Pelle László, a legeredményesebb bérfőzde díjat pedig a Boldogkő-FRUIT kft kapta.
