2005 szeptemberében 11 jeles férfiú összeült Tarpán és egy hosszú, tanácskozás eredményeképpen megalakította a Szatmár-Beregi Pálinka Lovagrendet! Az urak az élet különböző területeiről érkeztek, akad közöttük vállalkozó, múzeumigazgató, újságíró, őstermelő, pálinkafőző és polgármester is, de lelkesedésük, tenni akarásuk egyfelé mutatott.
Zászlójukra olyan nemes célok megvalósítását tűzték ki, mint:
- Régió történelmi, kulturális és gasztronómiai hagyományainak ápolása, és minél szélesebb körben történő megismertetése.
- Az eredetvédett szatmári szilvapálinka minőségének folyamatos javítása, ezzel egyidőben a régi hírnevének visszaállítása.
- A legnemesebb pálinkák fogyasztáskultúrájának és társadalmi elismertségének megteremtése.
A nagyközönség elé 2006 október 8-án Tarpán, a harmadik Szatmár-Beregi Szilvanapok keretei között álltak ki és ünnepélyes felvonulásukkal, ceremóniájukkal rögtön belopták magukat a térség patrióta polgárainak szívébe.
A lovagrend az azóta eltelt időben nem sokat pihent, bátran mondhatjuk, hogy minden megmozdulása, rendezvényen való részvétele nagy médiavisszhangot keltett és bárhol megjelentek tiszteletreméltó tagjai szellemiségükkel az események fényét emelték.
Az érdeklődők minden évben három kitűntetett alkalommal biztosan találkozhat a Szatmár-Beregi Pálinka Lovagrend tagjaival; április 25-én rendezik Tivadarban a Szilvavirágzás ünnepét, szeptember 26-án tartják Tarpán az Új Pálinka Ünnepét lovagfelvételi ceremóniával és az évet december 11-12-én zárják az évet Nyíregyházán a Luca Napi Pálinkaünneppel.
